Vigilance for Victory and the Strength to Stand
Sunday Morning Meditation, (Ephesians 6:10-13), 7.27.2025
Vigilance is an essential key to victory in any battle. In our verses for today, Paul both calls us to be aware and vigilant of the reality of spiritual warfare, while also telling us in plain fashion the way we withstand the spiritual forces of evil– standing strong in the Lord and putting on the armor of God.
As we gather this morning in our local church, we have an opportunity to be armored anew with the weapons we use to wage spiritual warfare. We get to fasten on the belt of truth, pick up the piercing sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God, and praise God for the helmet of salvation that we have through Christ Jesus. Praise God that in him we can stand strong amidst spiritual battles and that we have the comfort that all our battles have already been ultimately won. I hope you have a sweet time of fellowship and worship this morning in church and enjoy the rest of your Sunday!
Ephesians 6:10-13
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.
